ContextEstablished in 1990, Al Ain Water is one of the UAE's leading bottled water brands and part of Agthia Group's extensive food and beverage portfolio.
With strong national recognition and heritage, Al Ain Water operated within an increasingly sophisticated and competitive bottled water market, where international and regional brands competed across product quality, provenance, wellness, packaging and consumer experience.
The strength and familiarity of the existing brand provided an important foundation, but also meant that any evolution needed to retain established equity while making Al Ain Water more relevant and distinctive for a new generation of consumers.

ChallengeAgthia's ambition was to establish Al Ain Water as a better national water brand, becoming the number one brand of choice in Abu Dhabi and a top-three brand across the other Emirates.
Achieving this required more than a packaging refresh.
The challenge was to create a clear, relevant and differentiated consumer proposition capable of strengthening preference while developing a distinctive visual identity that would perform powerfully in a highly competitive retail environment.
At the same time, the system needed to provide sufficient flexibility for Al Ain Water to grow its portfolio and introduce future product innovations without diluting recognition of the masterbrand.

SolutionAeron developed a comprehensive brand strategy and positioning for Al Ain Water, creating the strategic foundation for a refreshed visual identity and packaging system.
The work considered the wider competitive landscape, consumer expectations and the existing equity within the brand, allowing us to identify how Al Ain Water could strengthen its position as a contemporary UAE water brand while retaining the familiarity and trust it had built over many years.
The resulting visual identity and packaging design system created a more coherent and distinctive expression across the range, strengthening recognition and shelf standout while providing a flexible framework for different formats and future product extensions.
Importantly, the work established a platform that could continue to evolve. Aeron subsequently supported Agthia with product and packaging innovation across the Al Ain Water portfolio, including Al Ain Fresh, Al Ain Plus and Al Ain Zero, helping extend the brand into new propositions and consumer occasions.

ResultThe engagement provided Al Ain Water with a clearer strategic position and a more distinctive and flexible consumer brand system.
The refreshed identity and packaging strengthened consistency across the portfolio while creating a platform capable of supporting continued product innovation and range development.
The relationship subsequently extended into a series of new product development and packaging initiatives, demonstrating how the original brand platform could evolve as consumer needs and market opportunities changed.
Today, Al Ain Water remains one of the UAE's leading bottled water brands, with a portfolio spanning its core water range and a growing selection of differentiated hydration products.
