ContextAl Ain Water is one of the UAE's leading bottled water brands and part of Agthia Group.
Following earlier work refreshing the core Al Ain identity and packaging portfolio, the business continued to invest in product innovation and category growth. Al Ain Zero was developed as the UAE's first pH-neutral, sodium-free bottled water, providing consumers with an alternative hydration option while retaining naturally occurring minerals including calcium, potassium and magnesium.
The opportunity was to create a distinctive product identity and packaging system that clearly communicated these functional benefits while maintaining strong recognition across the wider Al Ain portfolio.

ChallengeThe launch of Al Ain Zero introduced a new proposition within an established bottled water category.
The challenge was to communicate the product's unique functional benefits—including its pH-neutral formulation, sodium-free composition and balanced mineral profile—in a way that consumers could understand quickly at the point of purchase. The packaging also needed to reinforce the trusted Al Ain brand while creating sufficient differentiation from the wider portfolio and supporting future range extensions.

SolutionWorking closely with Agthia, Aeron developed the Al Ain Zero proposition through a programme of market, category, competitor and consumer research.
These insights informed the development of the product architecture, packaging concepts, PET bottle design, naming hierarchy and label system, creating a distinctive identity that balanced innovation with continuity across the wider Al Ain portfolio.
The packaging was designed to communicate the product's key functional benefits with clarity, helping consumers quickly understand that Al Ain Zero is pH-neutral, sodium-free and enriched with naturally occurring minerals, while also highlighting the use of 100% recyclable bottles as part of the brand's sustainability commitment.
The resulting design system provided a consistent framework that could be applied across multiple pack sizes while strengthening recognition both on shelf and across retail environments.

ResultAl Ain Zero was successfully launched into the UAE market and is now available in 200 ml, 330 ml, 500 ml and 1.5 L formats.
The project introduced a distinctive new product within the Al Ain portfolio, giving consumers a clear alternative hydration proposition while supporting the brand's ongoing programme of innovation and portfolio development.
Through a combination of strategic positioning, naming hierarchy and packaging design, the new range established a scalable foundation for future product extensions while reinforcing Al Ain Water's reputation for innovation within the UAE bottled water market.
