ContextSaudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) is Saudi Arabia's national defence company and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF).
Established in 2017, SAMI was created to strengthen the Kingdom's domestic defence capability while supporting greater self-sufficiency across aerospace, defence systems, electronics, land and maritime technologies. The organisation also plays a central role in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 ambitions to develop a globally competitive defence industry.
As SAMI expanded its operations and international partnerships, the organisation required a stronger and more consistent brand capable of communicating its ambition on the global stage.

ChallengeAs a rapidly growing national defence organisation, SAMI needed a brand capable of reflecting both its strategic importance to Saudi Arabia and its ambition to become a globally recognised defence company.
The existing identity required greater consistency across communications while providing a stronger platform for engagement with government stakeholders, international partners, investors and employees.
The challenge extended beyond visual identity alone. SAMI also required a scalable brand architecture capable of supporting future organisational growth, portfolio development and a growing family of businesses.

SolutionWorking closely with SAMI, Aeron developed a refreshed visual and verbal identity system designed to strengthen consistency across communications while creating a more distinctive expression of the organisation's ambition and purpose.
The engagement included the development of comprehensive brand guidelines covering identity application, communications principles and implementation standards, enabling internal teams and external partners to apply the brand consistently across a broad range of marketing and corporate communications.
Alongside the identity programme, Aeron supported the development of a strategic brand architecture, establishing a clearer framework for organising the SAMI portfolio and defining relationships between the masterbrand, business units and future capabilities. This created a stronger platform for long-term growth while supporting clearer governance across an increasingly complex organisation.
Together, the work created a coherent brand system capable of supporting SAMI's international profile as the organisation continues to grow.

ResultThe refreshed identity and brand management framework provided SAMI with a stronger platform for communicating consistently across domestic and international audiences.
The engagement established a more coherent visual and verbal identity together with a scalable brand architecture designed to support future portfolio development, organisational growth and international engagement.
The work contributed to a long-term brand platform aligned with SAMI's ambition to become one of the world's leading defence companies while supporting the wider objectives of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 programme.
